The Buxtons

Renowned Australian developer MAB Corporation, led by Michael & Andrew Buxton, jointly developed several projects with Wolfstep including 473 Williamstown Rd Port Melbourne and 431 Burke Road Glen Iris. As per the book entitled ‘The Buxtons – 150 years of developing Melbourne’, “Michael had not done an industrial development since the early 1970’s and he learned a great deal working with (Don) Wolf.”

Regardless of how simple or complex your development needs or property characteristics are, we are confident we’ll be able to propel your property goals to their maximum potential.

Our History

Wolfstep Projects was founded in 1967 by Pinkas Wolf . Early projects included factories in Richmond and South Melbourne, before pioneeringly developing the first midrise office buildings in Camberwell and Hawthorn.

Wolfstep’s Portside Business Park, developed on an 8-hectare site purchased from GMH at Fishermans Bend, set a new benchmark for subsequent development in Port Melbourne. The prestigious business park consists of a number of fully refurbished art deco buildings and 21 high tech office warehouse units.

More recently, Wolfstep has been involved in a range of commercial developments, including strata office buildings, architecturally designed warehouse units and main road showrooms.

Pinkas-Wolf

Pinkas Wolf

Founding Director Until
Passing in 2017

Having run a successful textiles and feather down export business in Poland before emigrating to Australia in 1949, Pinkas brought a wealth of broad business experience, acumen, and leadership to Wolfstep. After starting a new, Australia-based business in millinery and fashions, he simultaneously began exploring property projects in the early 1960’s before founding Wolfstep in 1967. In these early years, Wolfstep concentrated on inner suburban industrial projects and gradually broadened its scope of business into a range of commercial projects. Pinkas has had and continues to have a huge influence on Wolfstep where his unwavering standards of honesty and integrity filter into all areas. His word and handshake were a binding agreement, and this principle still permeates the Wolfstep philosophy today.

Don Wolf

Director

Don entered Wolfstep in the early 1970’s after pursuing tertiary studies both locally and overseas. Beginning with hands-on experience, Don had stints of experience on sites laying concrete and fixing steel before eventually graduating into property management and development. His continuous contact with clients, financiers, builders, and end users have given Don a broad knowledge of property development. In addition, he is a keen student of economic and property cycles, both of which have given him a strategic insight into building and property matters.
